I Can Be Irreverent

Image Courtesy of Autostraddle.com from an article by Marie Lyn Bernard

“The Grammy voters chose someone who, according to her lyrics, has spent her entire life waiting for phone calls and dreaming about horses and sunsets.”

Go on, click to read it. If you are a teenage girl it will tell you that the most important thing about you isn't your virginity. Plus, it will also generate a giggle at the notion of Taylor Swift being an "outsider".

A Challenge To Religion

"If religions merely cling to "fundamental" past understandings, denying revelations at hand, they will become superfluous. By not allowing myths to grow and develop, by denying new prophecy, as it were, many religious entities contribute to stultification and even collective psychic unbalance. It is as if they insisted that adolescent dreams were the sole vehicles for truth and took a pill to stop further dreaming."

Winter Olympics 2010 Day One

Avatar 3D - Finally

Saw Avatar 3D. Looked Fantastic. Beautiful. Seamless CGI integration. Story a right clunker. Head hurts from being repeatedly beaten with a New Age mallet. Jimmy Cameron, you're not a subtle boy. Verdict? Great way to spend 3 hours.

And why has my font changed? Is it trying to tell me something?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Watching a Top 10 80's Anthems on TV. Every time I see Cyndi Lauper I'm reminded of, no matter what happened to muddy my childhood in any way, the spirit of the music (particularly between 1980-1986) somehow refuses to die. Everyone's always so quick to judge the neon legwarmers and lipstick... For shame!
