English Literature Honours Papers

Apart from the research paper I'm doing I have three other papers this year included in my Honours year. They are listed below, including the set texts. I'm pretty excited about all of them but would be lying if I said I wasn't positively drooling about the Literature and Technology paper.

SPECIAL TOPIC: PIRATES, FAGS AND NEW WOMEN: VICTORIAN AND EDWARDIAN ADOLESCENT FICTION


· Thomas Hughes’ Tom Brown’s Schooldays,
· Rudyard Kipling’s Kim,
· Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island,
· J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan
· H. Rider Haggard’s King Solomon’s Mines,

In addition to these texts, students will also be required to read a number of magazines for
adolescents such as Boys’ and Girls’ Own Paper at the Dorothy Neale White collection in the
National Library.
